DAVE PARKER

It is with profound sadness that I have to inform you of the death of Dave Parker. He died last night while doing night photography at Hengistbury Head. Dave and Jacky were relatively new members of the Club and Dave had just volunteered to be our membership secretary. Dave was one of those people who lit up a room when he entered, always smiling and always ready to help others. Dave was a press photographer for many years and met the great and the maybe not so great on many occasions. His Facebook caption to this photograph sums up his sense of humor Things haven't changed at all. When the U.S. President visited the U.K. in 1973 we still had to count out fingers after shaking hands.

Dave was a lovely man, funny, interesting, and very talented. I wrote to the Committee initially and William Bonett sent me a lovely quote. RIP Dave; my life made all the richer by him and he will be so sadly missed.  I can't really add to that sentiment.  This is a very sad day for the Club but our deepest thoughts are with Jacky and their family. Feel free to leave a comment or story about Dave just email lymingtoncameraclub@gmail.com and I will post them on this story Finally, raise a glass of Guinness to Dave when you can
